Hullman is an associate professor of computer science, engineering, and journalism at Northwestern University. Her research interests span statistical inference, journalism, cognitive science, and behavioral economics. She examines how to design, evaluate, coordinate, and think about representations of data for amplifying cognition and decision-making. Her work aims to help more people make sense of complex information and, in particular, to reason with data under uncertainty.
